Privacy Policy
Track ID Deck · Last updated: 27 August 2026
Your music library stays on your phone. The only files that ever leave your device are the ones you personally choose to identify, and those are sent to be recognised and are not kept by us. We show no adverts and use no analytics or tracking software.
Who we are
Track ID Deck (“the App”) is provided by Track ID Deck. For any privacy question, or to make a request about your data, contact ozayr420@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
The App scans your device for audio files in order to show your library. That scan — filenames, titles, artists, albums, durations and folder locations — is read on your device and is never uploaded. Your playlists, favourites, rename history, settings and any background picture you choose are all stored locally in the App’s own storage. Uninstalling the App deletes all of it.
What is sent when you use Identify
When you tap Identify on a song, the App uploads that complete audio file, and its filename, to our server. Our server forwards the file to AudD, a third-party music-recognition service, which analyses it and returns a possible artist and title. The file is passed through in order to answer your request and is not stored on our server afterwards. AudD’s own handling of the file is governed by their privacy policy.
Because the whole file is sent, do not use Identify on voice notes, personal recordings or any audio containing private or confidential information.
The identifier we use
So that credits can be tracked without asking you to create an account, the App generates a random identifier the first time it runs and stores it on your device. It is a random value, not linked to your name, email, phone number, Google account or advertising ID, and it is not used to profile or track you across other apps or websites. It is sent with identification and purchase requests purely to look up your credit balance. Clearing the App’s data or uninstalling it discards the identifier permanently, and with it any credits attached to it.
Purchases
Payments in the App are processed by Google Play. We never see or receive your card details. When you buy credits or a subscription, the App sends the purchase token Google issues, along with the product identifier and your random identifier, to our server so the purchase can be verified and credits granted. Google’s handling of your payment information is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
If you buy through our website rather than the App, payment is handled by Paystack and we store your email address against the payment reference for up to 30 days so the purchase can be matched to your account and support requests can be answered. Sign-in links for the website are sent using Resend, which processes your email address in order to deliver them; those links are stored for 15 minutes and then deleted.
What we store, and for how long
On our server we hold your random identifier, your remaining credit balance, and the expiry date of each batch of credits. Credits expire 60 days after purchase and expired batches are removed automatically. Website payment references and email addresses are kept for up to 30 days, and sign-in links for 15 minutes. We do not store your audio files, your library, or a history of what you have identified.
Who processes data for us
- AudD — music recognition; receives the audio file you choose to identify.
- MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive — album artwork lookup. When you ask for a cover, the artist and song title are sent so the matching artwork can be found. No audio, no filename, and nothing identifying you or your phone is sent, and the request goes directly from the app rather than through our server.
- Cloudflare — hosting for our server and storage of the credit balances described above.
- Google Play — in-app purchases and subscription billing.
- Paystack — payments made through our website.
- Resend — delivery of website sign-in emails.
Each of these processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Advertising and analytics
There are none. The App contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no third-party trackers, and it does not collect your location, contacts, camera, microphone input or browsing activity. The App requests access to your audio files, to post notifications so playback controls can be shown, and — only if you use “Set as ringtone” — permission to change that system setting.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because the App uses only a random identifier, the fastest way to erase everything held about you is to clear the App’s data or uninstall it, which permanently discards the identifier and any credits attached to it. For website data, or for any other request, contact ozayr420@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data on servers outside your country, including outside your region of residence. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection law.
Security
Traffic between the App and our server is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to us.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and material changes will be brought to your attention in the App before they take effect.
