Track ID Deck for Android
Track ID Deck · Last updated: 22 October 2026
Track ID Deck is an offline music player for the songs already on your Android phone, with
an auto tagger that gives unknown songs their names back. A file saved as
AUD-20240115-WA0007.opus or track_07 (1).mp3 becomes
Artist – Title, renamed on the phone itself.
Short answer An ad-free music player that renames unknown song files on your phone to Artist – Title. It names files from what they already say for free, and identifies the rest from their sound for one credit per song.
What is Track ID Deck for Android?
A music player for the music you already have. It does not download or stream music. Songs forwarded through chat apps, saved from downloads or copied between phones often end up named after a date or a row of numbers. Track ID Deck finds those files, works out what they are, and renames them to Artist – Title, with the tags filled in so every music app shows the right name.
It is the Android app of this site. The browser version does the identifying and renaming on any device, without the music player.
What does it do?
Free names
Many files already say what they are in their file name or tags. Free names reads them, splits the artist from the title, renames the file and writes the tags. It uses no credits and uploads nothing. You see the old name and the new one side by side before anything changes, and a rename can be undone. Edit details fixes the title, artist and album by hand.
Identify
For a file nothing else can name, Identify sends a few short clips from inside the song to a music-recognition service and suggests the artist and title. You check the match, then tap Rename. Recordings that were never released, such as voice notes, cannot be found this way.
Duplicate songs
Finds songs saved on your phone twice, even when the two files have different names, by comparing the audio. It shows which copy it keeps and which it removes, and you can listen before you decide. One copy of every song always stays, and nothing is removed until you say so. It is in Settings.
The music player
- Songs, artists, albums and playlists, with your own cover pictures for playlists.
- Keeps playing in the background, with notification and lock-screen controls and a home-screen widget.
- Shuffle, repeat, an up-next queue and a sleep timer.
- Ten retro visualizers, from spectrum bars and a VU meter to an LED grid, that react to the real sound. No microphone permission needed.
- A DJ-style equalizer: a fader for each band, a tilt dial that leans the sound towards bass or treble, presets, and bass boost, stereo widening and extra loudness where the phone supports them.
- Lyrics saved with a song show on the player and full screen, and timed lyrics follow the song. The app never downloads lyrics.
- Trim a song into a new clip, set a song as your ringtone, and export the whole library as one CSV, text or M3U file.
Which audio formats does it play and rename?
It plays MP3, M4A, FLAC, OGG, OPUS, WAV and more, and renames any of them. It writes the artist and title tags into MP3, M4A, FLAC, OGG, WAV and AIFF files. OPUS files are renamed, but their tags are left as they are.
Does it need an internet connection?
Not to play music. Playing, Free names, Duplicate songs, the equalizer and the visualizers all work offline. Identify needs a connection, because the clips go to the recognition service, and so do signing in and buying credits.
Does it have ads or tracking?
No. There are no banners, no video ads and nothing between songs, and the app has no analytics and no tracking.
Is it free?
It is free to install, and everything except Identify is free: the player, Free names, Duplicate songs, the equalizer and the visualizers. Identify uses one credit per song. Credits come in 20-song packs, bought in the app through Google Play, and last three years. A credit is used even when no match is found, because the lookup was made either way, but never when the recognition service itself fails. Signing in with just your email (a six-digit code, no password) keeps your credits on a new phone or after a reinstall.
Is it the same as Shazam, Sony’s TrackID or Beatport’s Track ID?
No. Those listen through the microphone to a song playing around you. Track ID Deck works on audio files already saved on your phone: it identifies the file itself, renames it and plays it. It is not related to Shazam, to Sony’s TrackID or to Beatport’s Track ID.
What happens to my music?
Your library stays on your phone. Audio leaves it only when you choose to identify a song, as a few short clips, and it is not kept. The privacy policy says what is sent, who processes it and what is stored, and delete your account explains how to delete an account and what is kept.
Is there a version for iPhone or a computer?
There is no iPhone app. On any phone or computer, the browser version at trackidentify.com identifies and renames audio files with nothing to install. The guides cover the free ways to do it as well.
